Tina4 Contributor Licence Agreement#

Draft - pending legal review. This agreement is not yet in force. Until Code Infinity confirms the final text, contributions are accepted under the licence in each repository's LICENSE file.

This agreement is between you (the "Contributor") and Code Infinity (Pty) Ltd ("Code Infinity"), the steward of the Tina4 project. It applies to every contribution you submit to a Tina4 repository under github.com/tina4stack. You agree to it once, and it covers all your future contributions.

1. Definitions#

Contribution: any code, documentation, test or other material you submit to a Tina4 repository, in a pull request, a patch, an issue or any other form intended for inclusion.
Project licences: the Mozilla Public License 2.0 (MPL-2.0), and any commercial licence Code Infinity offers for Tina4.

2. What you grant#

You grant Code Infinity, and anyone who receives Tina4 from Code Infinity, a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, sublicense and distribute your Contribution, under the project licences or any other licence Code Infinity chooses, as long as that Contribution also stays available under an open source licence approved by the Open Source Initiative.

You also grant a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable patent licence covering the patent claims you control that your Contribution necessarily infringes, alone or combined with Tina4. It ends for anybody who brings a patent claim alleging that Tina4 or your Contribution infringes their patent.

You keep your copyright. This agreement is a licence, not an assignment.

3. What you confirm#

It's yours to give. The Contribution is your original work, or you have the right to submit it under this agreement.
Your employer agrees. If your employer has rights to what you create, you have permission to contribute on its behalf, or it has waived those rights.
Third-party material is marked. Anything in the Contribution that isn't your own work is identified, with its source and its licence.
You'll tell us if that changes. If you learn that any of the above stops being true, you'll let Code Infinity know.

4. No warranty#

Except as stated in section 3, you provide the Contribution "as is", without warranties or conditions of any kind.

5. How you agree#

On your first pull request, post this comment on the pull request:

I have read the Tina4 Contributor Licence Agreement and I agree to it.

The comment, with your GitHub account and the date, is the record. A check on each pull request will look for it before the pull request can merge.
